DPhil Student in Statistics

University of Oxford

Biography

I am a third-year DPhil student in the Department of Statistics at the University of Oxford, supervised by Prof. Robin Evans. I am interested in causal inference. My current project aims to develop a rigorous and robust methodology to combine experimental and observational datasets for better inference.

Before starting my DPhil, I spent five years working as a qualified actuary in consulting. I specialised in using data analytics and statistical modelling to help government and other social sector organisations to make informed decisions. Through my consulting career, I realised the important role that causal inference plays in making meaningful decisions that create positive changes in people’s lives, which motivated me to pursue a DPhil study in this area.
